ACRCloud is proud to announce a deal with China’s top smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi, to integrate music/humming recognition technology with MIUI. With this integration, hundreds of millions MIUI users will not only be able to identify music playing in their surrounding environment, but also be able to hum a tune and have the ACRCloud engine recognize it on MIUI’s music platform, Mi Music. Users will then be able to stream and/or download the respective song from Mi Music’s extensive music library. The feature will become available to all Mainland Chinese users of MIUI in March of this year.
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Xiaomi is the largest smartphone manufacturer in China. In 2015 Xiaomi sold over 70 million of its devices. MIUI, the Android ROM developed by Xiaomi, reached 170m active users in January 2016.
ACRCloud has indexed over 40m tracks in its music fingerprinting database, and for 2015 was ranked #1 in audio fingerprinting technology by the prestigious Music Information Retrieval Evaluation eXchange (MIREX).
